The French New Zealand Business Council (FNZBC) is an association of companies, incorporated bodies, businesses, professionals, and other persons for the purpose of several objectives as described below.
The FNZBC focuses on French companies wishing to establish commercial or industrial links with New Zealand, French companies already established in New Zealand, and New Zealand firms wanting to develop their activities on both the French and French Pacific markets. To achieve its aims, the FNZBC has given itself several goals:
Networking : that is to say to promote the voluntary and amicable association of business people and organisations involved in trade and associated activities between New Zealand, France and the French Territories of the Pacific.
Informative services : the FNZBC seeks to provide easy access to information for its members on trade, investment and business opportunities in New Zealand, France and the French Pacific Territories.
Organising events : throughout the year the FNZBC organizes several events, some of which have a cultural or traditional “flavour”, such as the Bastille Day Ball or the Beaujolais Nouveau, while others are more business-minded.
Representing our members' interests: our members might have joined the FNZBC for various reasons. Some might be seeking commercial benefits; others are subsidiaries of French corporate groups. Some belong to our association for sentimental reasons; others want to make sure no business opportunity will be missed. Finding the common denominator of our members is not necessarily an easy task, and it brings us back to networking. The more we meet and get to know each other, the better we will be able to identify our common ground and expectations.
Incorporated in 1985, the French New Zealand Business Council has 66 members. Although the FNZBC is an independent association mainly relying on its membership fees, we aim to work closer with the Trade Commission of the French Embassy, and be considered as its “de facto” counterpart in Auckland. In order to boost this cooperation, we sought to enhance the professionalism and credibility or our association through our affiliation with the Union of the French Chambers of Commerce (UCCIFE). That is why we are now their formal representative in New Zealand, as demonstrated through this website.
